Video Consultations
A video call is very similar to a face-to-face appointment. You will get the same care.
Video consultations are suitable for many patients who do not need a physical examination and who are able to communicate via video
Life can be hectic, especially when trying to juggle work, family and life’s other plans. And when you need to get something checked out, it can be tricky to get a doctor’s appointment that suits.
But it’s super convenient with video consulting, as you can have your appointment from anywhere – whether you choose to be seen just after you sign up, or book a time up to suit you
It can be tempting to delay medical appointments and ignore a new ache, pain or worry, but the quicker you get it sorted, the better. Whether you have a long-term health condition or an unusual new symptom you need looked at, you can see a GP by video within minutes.
With online medical services, there’s no geographical boundary. Medex is available to everyone living in England, and you can use it wherever you are. You can access reputable doctors and specialists that might otherwise be unavailable to you, or would come with a long wait list. Getting a face-to-face appointment is not always easy, but with Medex, you can have the easiest access to quality healthcare.
The GP will ask you questions about your health to work out the best treatment for you. You can also ask any questions you may have.
It might help to write down what they say, so you keep a record. Any notes will be added to your record after the call.
If you are prescribed any medicine, the doctor or healthcare professional will give you advice on how to take it. They may talk to you about the best way of getting your prescription.
They can refer you if needed or give you any advice just as they would during a face-to-face appointment.
Children

Video visits make it easy to get medical care. They are convenient because you can:
-Meet with a GPfrom your home.
-Fit health care appointments into family life. For example, you might need to take your child out of school for only short periods to attend video consultations.
-Talk to a health professional about your child even if it’s difficult for you to travel to an in-person appointment.
-Save time and money because you don’t have to travel.
-Avoid traveling when your child is sick.
-Lessen the chance of exposing your child to other sick kids.
-Get care at night, on weekends, and on holidays.
-Follow up with specialists if required
What are the Limitation of Video Consultations
Sometimes a video visit isn’t a good option. Your child may need an in-person visit if:
-Their problem must be diagnosed in-person. Some conditions need a test or a direct look at the child to diagnose the problem. Examples include urinary tract infections, strep throat, and ear infections (of themiddle earor inner ear).
-More care is needed. If that happens, the provider will tell you where to go. They might send you to your primary care provider, an urgent care clinic.
-A technical problem happens. There might be times when your phone, computer, or the telehealth system don’t work well. A weak Wi-Fi signal or a dropped call might mean you have to schedule an in-person visit.
